There are many myths and stereotypes surrounding the Pitbull breed, most of which claim that the breed is vicious, aggressive, and "not to be trusted." We couldn't disagree more! We have many Pitbull Mixes that take shelter at our facility, and all of them are trusting, loyal, lovable dogs that wag their tails and loll their tongues at any opportunity to interact with a person. Each and every Pitbull we have for adoption is sweet and friendly, and the most "aggressive" quality any of them have is their excessive licking, snuggling and full-on slobbery kisses that they are sure to shower you in. Most of the Pitbulls awaiting adoption tend to be overlooked, and many await the possibility of a forever home for months, if not years. We have had many people turn their noses up at our smiling, wagging Pitbulls, and refuse to walk them, unaware that the dog looking back at them between the chain-link fence is not a vicious monster but a loyal canine with a big smile and an even bigger heart. We urge those that have not had the chance to meet a Pitbull to come to our facility and take one for a walk - we promise you won't be disappointed - perhaps you'll even fall in love!
Casey was surrendered due to the neglect of his owner, and when he first came in he was skin and bones. Despite the situation, his tail never stopped wagging. He awaited a new home for months, finally found that special someone, only to be returned to us two months later after his owner moved to another state. He is still awaiting adoption 4 months later.
